Unseen Scars is a truly unique and powerful film, one which highlights the issues faced by returning veterans and those suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Written and directed by Carl Mackenzie, and produced by newly formed Choice Point Productions, Unseen Scars is due to go into production in 2020.

The story follows veteran, James, who on his return from service, has difficulty adapting to civilian life. With the world now very different in James’ eyes, he tries to hide his PTSD from those around him, including his wife Sarah. Following a drink-driving incident, James is eventually forced to seek help from psychologist, Dr Simon Kirby. Through their sessions together, the two men form a friendship that could ultimately end up helping them both.

What makes Unseen Scars an extremely unique film, however, is that it will incorporate real-life interviews that intercut the story throughout.

The interviewees will all recount their experiences, and those experiences will play out on screen as the characters go through similar struggles and situations. The film’s sharp and impactful script, combined with the face-to-face interviews, will give a full 360 insight into the issues surrounding PTSD and the struggles that so many people face on a daily basis.
